Pete is an experienced finance professional, with a background leading finance, IT and procurement teams within private, public and third sector organisations across Scotland.
With over 8 years’ experience working in the tourism industry across a variety of Scottish visitor attractions, Pete has held the position of Head of Finance and IT at the Royal Yacht Britannia since June 2018. His core role there is to provide strategic financial guidance and leadership to the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees, and to support the business in upholding the highest standards of customer experience that has seen it consistently achieve the position of the best visitor attraction in Scotland, and one of the top 5 in the UK.
Previously Pete spent 5 years as Group Finance Manager with the National Trust for Scotland, where he discovered his passion for tourism, conservation, and heritage. It was during his time with the Trust that he provided financial support and advice to a number of Scotland’s most iconic sites, including Culzean Castle and The Battle of Bannockburn Experience, and it was for the latter that he acted as finance lead on the project to bring it to life in 2014.
Pete is also a keen student of leadership and management theory and holds qualifications with both the Institute of Leadership and Management, and the Chartered Management Institute.
