You will be responsible for delivering the highest standards of visitor experience at Glasgow Cathedral working across all areas, including in the shop, admissions area and outside, with delivery of information to visitors a core part of the role.

Almond Valley Heritage Trust Site is West Lothian’s favourite visitor attraction, operating on a large riverside site close to Livingston village.

We are recruiting for a seasonal maintenance assistant, you will engage in a range of tasks connected with the maintenance and upkeep of the site. Allowing the smooth running of the visitor attraction.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Undertaking day-to-day maintenance within the Almond Valley Heritage Trust Site to the high standard expected by the Trust, including but not limited to:

• Painting (external and internal)
• Joinery Work (external and internal)
• Fence, Wall and building repairs
• General DIY
• General site work
• Completing planned and reported grounds and general maintenance issues
• Working in a safe manner, and recognising, rectifying or reporting any health and safety concerns immediately.

Ensuring that work undertaken or not completed is appropriately recorded and communicated effectively with line manager as required.

Demonstrating self motivation, organising, planning and prioritising, along with good time management.

Undertaking such other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the site as required by the maintenance team leader.

Person Specification

You will be enthusiastic and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a small team. You must be professional, have good communication skills and an appreciation of the need for high quality and excellent customer service.

Ideally you will have a full driving licence, as the position may include driving a variety of vehicles on site.

Purpose of Role

To deliver a first class Deanston Distillery Experience for all our customers and visitors whilst assisting in the day to day running of the Distillery Visitor Centre (DVC).

Key Performance Areas and Responsibilities
Includes but is not limited to:

– Demonstrate a pride and passion for Deanston Distillery, Scotch whisky and other Distell brands.
– Deliver the Distell high performance culture by leading by example.
– Support the realisation of the vision for the Deanston Distillery Visitor Centre (DVC) through the Scotch Whisky & future Gin Experiences from our sister distillery, Tobermory, and the DVC Retail Store.
– Display professional communication, behaviours and actions resulting in a high level of credibility, trust and respect from customers, visitors and colleagues.
– Engage customers and visitors in the Deanston Distillery Experiences accurately, informatively and with passion. This to include the development, implementation and delivery of guided tours and experiences, events, retailing/merchandise, marketing campaigns and virtual sessions.
– Carry out with enthusiasm all duties related to the merchandising and retailing aspect of the role including till work, cash handling and safe/banking.
– Maintain the required DVC stock levels and carry out stock taking and store work.
– Prepare stock for sale – to include filling bottles, building packaging and related tasks.
– Carry out cleaning and housekeeping to maintain attractive and functional extended DVC work areas – floors, surfaces, glasses, wash areas, toilets etc.
– Participate in administrative tasks and the development and use of new approaches to the work of the DVC – to include email and telephone enquiries, web work, tilling, DigiTickets, social media, etc.

Dalkeith Country Park has been enjoyed by visitors for 120 years and its woodlands, riverside trails, cycle tracks and events calendar are valued by locals and visitors from afar. It is home to Fort Douglas, an exciting children’s adventure park and Restoration Yard, a unique stable yard conversion comprising a retail space, restaurant, food hall and wellness space.

This summer we will welcome visitors back to our campsite to enjoy our beautiful park, as well as the many other visitor attractions that Edinburgh and the surrounding area has to offer.

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Campsite Assistant to join our team to look after reception, check guests in/out, deal with guest turnaround, and help keep our fantastic site clean and tidy. If you are friendly, enthusiastic and enjoy being outdoors then we want to hear from you!

JOB PURPOSE
To maximise our visitors’ enjoyment of National Trust for Scotland managed sites by maintaining excellent standards of service, optimising opportunities to generate income and ensuring that the site and its assets are safe and secure.
Specifically, to ensure the smooth and safe operations in Admissions, Retail and Food & Beverage activities making the property the best possible place to visit and work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
To provide a consistently high standard of visitor care at all times
• Welcoming visitors to the site and processing their admission/retail or catering purchase in a friendly, efficient and knowledgeable manner;

The role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to provide a first-class service to visitors to Elgin Museum, alongside our core of volunteers. This is a varied and exciting role, providing the opportunity to engage with customers/visitors about the Museum, and about Moray’s natural and cultural heritage, ensuring a high standard of customer service at all times.

Act as a responsible keyholder, including during emergency situations.

We have an exciting seasonal opportunity to join the Caledonian Canal’s team of lock keepers in our 200th operating year, based in the Fort William area.

We welcome visitors from all over the world so we’re looking for cheerful, positive and outgoing people to join our friendly team. You’ll enjoy working with the public and preferably have previous experience in a frontline customer service role, but we’ll give you all the training you’ll need to operate our locks and bridges safely and efficiently.

As well as assisting craft through the locks and bridges you’ll help to keep the areas around the locks looking tidy and welcoming, so grass cutting experience and basic DIY skills would be an advantage but aren’t essential.

You’ll be working on a rolling rota, which includes weekends and public holidays, and you should have your own transport and a full driving licence.

We offer £11.03 per hour plus allowances for this role plus a contributory pension scheme. There is also skills training as part of the role.

We’re looking for team members to join us from April to early November and another intake to work with us from June to August. Weekly hours vary from an average of 41 to 44 hours per week, but Job Share/ Part Time options would be considered.
