As our Brand Experience continues to evolve here in Elgin, we are now looking for a team of Seasonal Guest Experience Assistants from May to September. Supporting the Guest Experience team, you will be the face of Johnstons of Elgin to the guests who come here everyday.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

Greeting all guests on site in a friendly and professional manner;
Answering visitor enquiries face to face in our Brand Experience;
Conducting daily mill experiences for guests, and Archive experiences for selected guests;
Communicating with individual guests, tour companies and agencies, organising mill experiences.
Building relationships with local and national businesses to attract visitors to the Elgin site and our other locations across Scotland;
Assisting the Guest Experience Executives in organising and executing events developed to increase footfall and revenue;
Fluency in at least one foreign language is a pre-requisite of this role, therefore this role is particularly suitable for individuals currently studying languages and looking for an opportunity to put these into practice at one of Scotland’s most prestigious tourism locations.

To develop an extensive knowledge of the museum’s layout, exhibitions, activities, and the surrounding local area, to provide tailored service of the highest standard.

To encourage visitor participation with a broad range of public programmes available at V&A Dundee, such as educational and family activities.

To be a responsible and visible presence for an area of the museum on a daily basis, actively walking the galleries, carrying out invigilation duties and ensuring the safety and security of the exhibitions, objects and visitors.

To work comfortably as part of the team, developing an understanding for the importance that each colleague plays in delivering the overall visitor experience, and communicating confidently to ensure this is achieved.

Ensure that the museum is always presented to the highest standard, carrying out light cleaning, tidying and maintenance duties as required.

About the role

About you

Previous customer service within hospitality, retail, and/or tourism is essential due to the nature of the role and must ensure to deliver excellent customer service at all points in the customer journey.

Have an approachable and friendly personality who strives to ensure that the customer has a great day while contributing to their positive experience of Glasgow. The simplest question of what else they have planned for that day and providing personal recommendations can enhance their trip and explore places they didn’t think of.

Strong multi-tasking and organisational skills to ensure smooth running of day-to-day operations. No one hour can be the same, a hands-on approach and willingness to assist areas where required is essential.

We have an exciting seasonal opportunity to join the Caledonian Canal’s team of lock keepers in our 200th operating year, based in the Fort Augustus area.

We welcome visitors from all over the world so we’re looking for cheerful, positive and outgoing people to join our friendly team. You’ll enjoy working with the public and preferably have previous experience in a frontline customer service role, but we’ll give you all the training you’ll need to operate our locks and bridges safely and efficiently.

As well as assisting craft through the locks and bridges you’ll help to keep the areas around the locks looking tidy and welcoming, so grass cutting experience and basic DIY skills would be an advantage but aren’t essential.

You’ll be working on a rolling rota, which includes weekends and public holidays, and you should have your own transport and a full driving licence.

As the first point of contact for visitors, the Visitor Welcome Assistant provides visitors with the information they need for an enjoyable and memorable visit. The Visitor Welcome Assistant is responsible for; welcoming visitors, selling tickets, assisting with orientation, up-selling membership, processing cash and card transactions including retail sales, and cashing up at the end of each shift.

It is essential that the Visitor Welcome Assistant has great communication skills and the ability to work alone under pressure. Strong IT skills and competency using electronic point of sale systems are desirable.

The role is paid hourly and is fixed term March-October with a start date w/c 27th March. The attraction opens Saturday to Wednesday in April, May, June, September and October, and candidates must be available to work this pattern including bank holiday dates. The attraction opens daily in July and August, and shift patterns will vary during this period.

We’re looking for a number of Seasonal Visitor Experience Assistants to work at Edinburgh Zoo during our peak Summer periods: April, July, August and October. Training will take place in March. The role

Providing a first-class sales and customer service experience to all visitors at RZSS Edinburgh Zoo and by providing information and assistance and ensuring an environment that is engaging and well maintained.

Some of the things you’ll do:
