Applicants must have a positive and caring attitude together with a natural flair for customer service.

The successful applicants will be responsible to the Visitor Enterprises Manager in the first instance and will be required to work under his direction on any duties connected with the Visitor Enterprises. This will include working in the gift shop, admission desk, coffee shop and exhibitions.

Excellent customer service skills are required for this position and applicants must be prepared to work on a rota basis. Normally based on a five day week but we can be flexible.

Modern single room accommodation available, if required.

JOB PURPOSE:

To assist in the provision of a high quality cleaning across the Highland Folk Museum, including public facilities and historic buildings.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• The cleaning of all toilets and daily replenishment of toilet disposables such as soap, paper towels and toilet rolls.
• The cleaning of historic buildings on a rota schedule including dusting, mopping etc.
• The cleaning of other areas including picnic benches
• The care and cleanliness of all equipment used in carrying out the above duties.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• To assist in the day to day operation of the museum, by engaging with visitors using a variety of techniques; which includes first person interpretation, cooking, and demonstrating crafts/skills e.g. rope making as allocated.
• To assist in the day to day running of the working croft by supporting the care of a variety of livestock and providing the historic interpretation of the croft.
• To assist in the day to day operation of the museum, by providing outstanding customer care in all areas.
• To work on a rota basis within the Crofter role, including regular weekend and bank holiday working.

• To be responsible for the opening and closing of the museum site and historic buildings
• To assist with car and coach parking and with the meeting and greeting of visitors and coach hosting.
• To provide lunch cover to the croft area as required.
• Ensure the museum buildings are kept clean and tidy.
• To assist in the day-to-day operation of the museum, by providing outstanding customer care in all areas.
• To assist with the maintenance and groundwork as required.
• To work on a rota basis within the role, including regular weekend and bank holiday working.
• To ensure that all activities are carried out safely.

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide animal care, including assisting with the running of a 1930s interpreted Croft.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• To assist in the day to day running of a working croft by being responsible for the care of a variety of livestock and crop planting.
• To assist in the day-to-day operation of the museum.
• To work on a rota basis within the Stockworker role, including regular weekend and bank holiday working.
• To work collaboratively to support volunteers and placements when required.

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide outstanding customer care, including information, guidance and assistance to all museum visitors in a safe, clean and friendly environment.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• To assist in the day to day operation of the museum, by providing outstanding customer care and delivering a first-class visitor experience
• To work on a rota basis within the reception, shop, sweetie shop and cleaning roles, including regular weekend and bank holiday working.
• Open and close all areas of responsibility, always keeping an awareness of security and safety of personnel
• Ensure all banking and cash handling requirements are met and adhere to security and cash handling procedures
• To work as a member of a museum team on a rota system.

Historic Environment Scotland have a variety of seasonal vacancies available. Positions include retail, admissions and guiding amongst many others.

Argyll Estates is recruiting a new Administrative Assistant for Inveraray Castle! This role is a seasonal part-time contract.

Inveraray Castle is the home of the Campbell Family and the Dukes of Argyll. The castle is also a successful major visitor attraction. The overall Argyll Estates cover several business streams, reaching across the county. The castle is an important element of the overall business.

The Administrative Assistant will be based in Inveraray, Scotland.

The assistant will have excellent communication skills and be friendly with a genuine desire to help and please others. They will be organized and have the ability to plan and think clearly. A ‘can do’ mentality is desired. Out of the visitor season, the castle is busy with various works, tests or training and you will be at the heart of coordinating this as well as taking and managing bookings for the season ahead.

The assistant will work within a team overseen by the Visitor Experience Manager. You will have a strong coordinated relationship with the Events Manager.
