The role of ‘Gardener’ as a key member of the Greenbank team will be heavily involved in the care and maintenance of the garden and wider designed landscape.

Use evidence and practice from our natural heritage properties to support our voice in national debates advocating for natural heritage. Work with communities living on or close to our land or with an interest in our land so that they collaborate with us to help achieve our natural heritage outcomes. Silence in Court! Right now, we’re on the lookout for seasonal part-time Customer Service Assistants to deliver horrible memorable experiences in this distinctively exciting attraction that takes you back to Edinburgh’s darkest history.

Working here feels pretty unique, but also cold, dark and foul-smelling. Therefore, we’re looking for individuals who are highly motivated and can be responsible for outrageous behaviour in order to create an inhospitable and gruesome environment.

What you need

*Lots of experience working in a customer facing environment
*Have an outgoing personality
*Confidence and energy to interact with the dungeon dwellers and of course the traitors
*Excellent communication, listening, and motivational skills

In this varied role you will be the first point of contact for our visiting peasants, offering a cold welcome, supporting them to stock up on Dungeon related goodies, answering any questions guests may have and acting as a sales representative.

Going out of your way to ensure our guests have a scary fun and exciting visit, helping customers at any point throughout the attraction.

This is a seasonal role offering a minimum of 10 guaranteed hours per week. Contracts will start from early June. Flexibility is needed including the ability to work weekends and to be available during peak times (bank holidays and school holidays).

To the wrong candidate, this could be the worst job imaginable. To the right candidate, one who displays traits of repulsiveness, who revels in being mischievous, and who has a penchant for the dark side of life – this could be the best job in the world!

What’s in it for you?

Alongside the opportunity to inflict your unique personality on guests from across the nation, you’ll also receive:

*Fortnightly pay at £9.58 per hour
*25% discount in our retail shops and restaurants and 40% off LEGO online
*Merlin Magic Pass – giving you free tickets to all our attractions worldwide for you, your family, and friends every year
*Employee pricing up to 55% off cinema tickets

The cell doors are open and ready to welcome you…

OI PEASANTS! WE’RE RECRUITING FOR ACTORS…

Ever fancied being part of the scariest and funniest journey through Edinburgh’s most perilous past. Do you revel in being mischievous and have a penchant for the dark side of life?

We’re bringing together an outstanding cast of theatrical actors to help transport our guests back in history.

What you need

*A background in performance and character acting, ideally with some formal performance training too
*Very strong characterisation skills
*Strong vocal ability (ideally with a Scottish accent, or the ability to portray one convincingly)
*To be able to learn scripts quickly and take direction
*Ability to improvise and react to the general public but remain in character
*Stamina and the ability to perform shows in quick succession, whilst maintaining a focused high-quality performance

The Edinburgh Dungeon is a 75-minute interactive theatrical tour where our guests are transported back in history and recounted tales of Edinburgh’s murky past by one of our many infamous characters. You could therefore find yourself taking on the role of the Judge, The Torturer, a member of Sawney Bean’s family, The ‘Foul Clenger’, Mary Queen of Scots, or even the ‘Witch Pricker’, amongst others.

Each character delivers a short, scripted show, which is crafted to be interactive so improvisation will also form a key part to your performance. As well as maintaining strong characterisation throughout each show, you’ll also be operating and controlling special effects during your performance, to enhance the whole experience.

At peak times, you’ll be performing shows every 8 to 10 minutes and as this is a dungeon after all, you’ll be working in dark, somewhat confined spaces.

These roles are seasonal offering a minimum of 10 guaranteed hours per week. You’ll need to be flexible with working hours and days, which will include weekdays, weekends and public holidays as required. Working hours could also include some evenings, for special events such as our ‘Dungeon Lates’ experience.

We welcome all applications, we do not cast based on ethnicity, identified gender, or body size.

What’s in it for you?

Alongside the opportunity to inflict your unique personality on guests from across the nation, you’ll also receive:

*Fortnightly pay at £10.35 per hour
*25% discount in our retail shops and restaurants and 40% off LEGO online
*Merlin Magic Pass – giving you free tickets to all our attractions worldwide for you, your family, and friends every year
*Employee pricing up to 55% off cinema tickets

The cell doors are open and ready to welcome you…
