1. BEACH ASSISTANT JOB DESCRIPTION

1.1 JOB TITLE Beach Assistant

1.2 SALARY Hourly according to age or voluntary

1.3 DATES Opportunities from March 2022

1.4 HOURS Flexible hours available to include weekdays, weekends,
evenings and Bank holidays including term time and school holidays.

1.5 RESPONSIBLE TO Cullen Sea School Administrator & Paddlesport Leader

2. OVERALL PURPOSE

2.1 As part of the Cullen Sea School team you will help with the organization and delivery of watersports activities including paddleboarding, kayaking and sailing sessions. Maintaining standards and safety to a degree of excellence as required by Cullen Sea School.

3. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 Setting up and taking the kit and equipment to the harbour and returning it after the sessions. This includes the washing down of all equipment and correct storage after use.

3.2 Supporting the Administrator on the beach and the Paddlesport Leader on the water to deliver the sessions for the customers.

3.3 Providing shore watch duties for sailing sessions.

3.4 Perform daily kit and equipment checks and reporting of any faults to the Paddlesport Leader to ensure compliance with the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority.

3.5 Assist in keeping the sea school yard clean and tidy and secure.

3.6 Accountable to the Sea School Administrator and Paddlesport Leader for health and safety of colleagues, customers, and self.

3.7 Adhere to Cullen Sea School procedures and perform such other duties as may be assigned by Cullen Sea School.

4 SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

4.1 Outdoor recreation sport. Passion for the outdoors.

CAPABILITIES

4.2 Able to swim in normal paddling clothing suitable for the prevailing conditions
4.3 A good level of physical fitness.

4.4 Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and polite manner.

4.5 A good team worker.

4.6 Smart personal appearance and professional image.

Desirable:

4.7 First aid certificate.

4.8 Foundation Safety and Rescue Training.
