You will play a vital part in making a difference to Glasgow’s economy and profile, to local communities, and to the people who live, work, visit and play in the city. As a Gallery Assistant you will have responsibility for delivering excellent customer service, public safety and collections security. You will be enthusiastic and able to demonstrate strong people skills and an ability to communicate effectively at all levels. You will be responsible for the security of the collection and the provision of a safe environment for visitors and colleagues alike. In your role, you will be required to set up and monitor equipment, promote goods and services, carry out surveys and keep and update records as required. The role involves working week days, alternate weekends and occasional evenings, and is peripatetic across the museum service as a whole.
To be successful in this role you have the following skills and experience:
•Experience working as front of house staff.
•Flexible attitude to working hours and location.
•Strong people and communication skills.
•Basic literacy and numeracy and IT skills.
