£18,000 – £22,000 depending on experience

Dalkeith Country Park is a truly special place. Just a few miles from Edinburgh, it’s home to Fort Douglas adventure playground and Restoration Yard, set in a beautiful 1,000-acre country estate. With over 300 years of history, a 700 year-old oak wood and miles of waymarked trails, visitors can enjoy exploring the park before a delicious meal in our restaurant, The Kitchen, or a browse around our wonderfully eclectic retail store. You’ll also find our Wellbeing Lab offering yoga and fitness classes.

As Park Ranger you will work as part of the Parks & Woodlands Team to ensure a positive visitor experience for all. The core responsibility of this role is to ensure that the park and grounds are maintained to a high standard while conserving the natural heritage of our beautiful country park. In addition, you will play a part in educating our visitors and the wider community.

While most of the Ranger’s work will focus on the grounds and woodlands of Dalkeith Country Park, there will also be involvement with wider activities in the park.

• Do you have a passion for the countryside and a drive to share your love of the outdoors?
• Can you demonstrate ground maintenance experience?
• Are you able to interact with a wide range of people with excellent communication and customer service skills?

Regular weekend working is required. Candidates should have a full driving licence and should be able to demonstrate risk awareness along with an understanding of safety in the workplace.
