Part-time Pastry Chef

Salary: FTE £30,000 - £33,000 (depending on experience) plus tips

Dalkeith Country Park is a truly special place. On the outskirts of Edinburgh, our beautiful 1,000-acre Estate is home to Restoration Yard’s gorgeous restaurant, The Kitchen. The catering team are passionate about creating memorable moments, whether our guests are with us for a spot of lunch, coffee & cake, or celebrating their wedding day. As well as our beautiful restaurant we also have the Coffee Shop, Larder, Cabin and many other pop-up outlets throughout the year to cater for our wide range of guests.

The role? We are looking for a Pastry Chef to join our busy kitchen team on a part-time basis, working closely with the Head Chef to produce quality pastries and puddings and ensure exceptional standards of service are maintained, supporting other sections as required. You will prepare pastries, desserts and all sweet related dishes for our food outlets, as well as catering for weddings and corporate events. Part-time hours will be three days per week, but we are open to applications from those looking for a different working pattern.

The person? With a passion for all things sweet, you will be hardworking with an eye for detail and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You should have worked in a similar role with proven skills in menu creation, stock management and controlling costs to maximise profit margins. Food hygiene certification, along with experience in baking, pastry preparation and decoration, is essential.
