
Visitor Welcome & Parking Assistant

Salary: £12.60 p/h (pay review pending on 1st April 2025)
Location: Roslin, Midlothian
Hours: Part-time (12 – 24 hours per week, including regular weekends)
Contract: Fixed Term from 1st May 2025 to 30th September 2025
Rosslyn Chapel was founded in 1446 by Sir William St Clair. The beauty of its setting, in rural Midlothian, and the mysterious symbolism of its ornate stonework have inspired, attracted, and intrigued writers, artists and visitors ever since.
In 1995, The Rosslyn Chapel Trust was established to oversee the continuing programme of conservation of one of Scotland’s most interesting & unique visitor attractions. We are looking for enthusiastic, welcoming & passionate people to join our Visitor Services team this summer.
Our Visitor Welcome & Parking Assistants will be required to assist visitors as they arrive at the Chapel. As a first point of contact for visitors, this role is crucial in providing a 5-star welcome. This role is based primarily in our coach & car parks, facilitating the safe access, parking & egress of coaches, minibuses & cars & co-ordinating visiting coach groups.
Our ideal candidate will:
• Have excellent communication skills and be outgoing and friendly.
• Display excellent customer service skills.
• Be able to work using their own initiative.
• Be willing to undertake basic cleaning & housekeeping duties.
• Have experience of working outside in all weather conditions.
• Have their own transport or be able to easily commute to Roslin.
• Be available to work regular weekends.
