Welcome to Your Hub for ASVA’s New Quality Scheme
Intending to launch in Spring 2025, ASVA’s new Quality Scheme is being shaped and will continue to be shaped by your feedback. It is designed to support Scotland’s attractions in delivering world class visitor experiences. Following the retiral of the VisitScotland Quality Assurance scheme, this initiative is a collaborative effort to ensure the long-term success and excellence of our sector.
Why a New Quality Scheme?
The decision to create a new scheme reflects the sector’s desire for a programme that truly meets the needs of Scottish attractions. Designed by the sector, for the sector, this scheme will:
- Be open to all attractions, activities, and experience providers – from cultural sites to retail, tours, gardens, and wildlife experiences.
- Provide world-class standards, delivering excellence across the industry.
- Include accessible training, data-driven insights, and marketing support tailored to empower members.
- Operate on a break-even basis, ensuring exceptional value for money.
Core Principles of the Scheme
- World-Class Standards: Incorporating international best practices to create a scheme that sets the benchmark for excellence.
- Industry-Led and Agile: Guided by ASVA with input from members and stakeholders to ensure it reflects the sector’s needs.
- Enhanced Star Grading and Marketing Support: Continuing the star grading system while introducing new branding and tools to strengthen marketing efforts.
- Improved Training Opportunities: Expanding access to training to support members in achieving and maintaining high standards.
- Data Dashboard and Benchmarking: Providing members with valuable insights to inform decisions and improve quality.
