In this supervisory role you’ll help create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere to exceed guest expectations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and compliance with licensing law/cash handling procedures. As The Kitchen, together with the stunning historic Orangerie and backdrop of the Park, is a popular venue for weddings and events, the successful candidate will assist with running evening functions.

The Role

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Catering Assistant to join us in our newly refurbished museum café in the heart of Kirkcaldy. You’ll be a real foodie and enjoy working with the general public, providing excellent customer service to our visitors. In this role as Cook you’ll be working to provide a first-class catering service to visitors to our beautiful and stunning RZSS Highland Wildlife Park located in the Cairngorms National Park

The role

– To prepare, cook or bake (role depending) all food for Highland Wildlife Park food outlets that deliver the highest standards of produce which not only exceeds our visitor expectations in flavour, substance and presentation, but is also in support of RZSS vision and mission.

Some of the things you’ll do:

– Working with direction from the Catering Coordinator, prepare all raw food in line with hygiene legislation, minimising all food wastage through effective production. This can involve either cooking the day’s menu options or baking.
– Ensure all food presented is of the highest quality, making sure of dietary requirements.
– Assist with the set-up of the kitchen on a day to day basis.
– Contribute to an effective ordering and stock control procedures by having an accurate knowledge of stock and informing Catering Coordinator when stocks are low.

In this role as Visitor Experience Assistant (Catering) you’ll be working to provide a first-class catering service to visitors to our beautiful and stunning RZSS Highland Wildlife Park located in the Cairngorms National Park.

In this role as Catering Team Lead you’ll be working to provide a first-class catering service to visitors to our beautiful and stunning RZSS Highland Wildlife Park located in the Cairngorms National Park.

The role

To coordinate the day-to-day catering operations to deliver first-class visitor experience and that your team and visitors enjoy a safe and happy environment; whilst generating income to exceed agreed targets in support of RZSS vision and mission.

This role is a permanent role where the working hours are 30 hours per week and weekend working will be required. Starting salary of £17,398 (this is the pro-rated salary)

Some of the things you’ll do:
– Working with direction from the Catering Coordinators, provide day-to-day supervision of the Catering team.
– Develop and maintain a supportive and dynamic first-class sales and service culture amongst the team -focusing on delivering high standards of service and food presentation in accordance with Cook safe regulations.
– Ensure the Café areas are presented to the highest standards (displays, seating areas, signage), fully stocked and equipment is cleaned, maintained and serviced on a regular basis and report to the Coordinator any maintenance issues.

Situated in wonderful parklands, Haddo House is an iconic historical landmark that has been part of the National Trust for Scotland since 1979. These days, Haddo House has established itself as the flagship venue of the Aberdeenshire North region and is a popular destination for both local and international visitors.

Visiting our Courtyard Café is an essential part of a trip to Haddo House & Country Park, and the role of the Visitor Service Supervisor is to make it a positive and memorable part of a visitor’s day with us.

JOB PURPOSE

Seasonal Job Opportunity Aboard Paddle Steamer Waverley

We are seeking to appoint up to 8 crew members to join our onboard catering team for Waverley’s 2022 season (May – October). The successful candidates will live aboard Waverley to work within the self-service restaurant, tea bar, galley and bars. You will strive to provide a high quality service to both passengers and crew.

This is an exciting opportunity to work aboard this unique vessel. We would welcome applicants who have experience in a similar role on other vessels. In return a competitive daily rate of pay will be offered.

Waverley is based on the Firth of Clyde but does operate in several areas around the UK. Crew will therefore have the opportunity to visit many ports in the course of the operating season.

Ideally Candidates will Possess:
Merchant Shipping STCW Certificates including:
1) Personal Survival Techniques (PST)
2) Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting (FPFF)
3) Elementary First Aid (EFA)
4) Security Awareness (SA)
5) Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (PSSR)

– ENG1 Medical issued by relevant UK Authority or recognised equivalent
– Right to work in the UK.

Waverley Excursions is willing to provide the necessary training, and meet the cost, for candidates with suitable experience in the hospitality industry to be awarded STCW and ENG 1 certificates.

The Role of Catering Steward / Stewardess

As a member of the catering crew on Waverley you will be focused on passengers and providing the best level of customer service. Daily duties involve storing the ship and preparing her for passenger service, serving in one of the onboard facilities while ensuring passenger areas are kept clean and tidy.

We would be willing to appoint a candidate who solely wishes to work in the galley.
