The Individual
This is the perfect opportunity for you if you have drive, passion and are interested in developing your catering, bar and hospitality skills and knowledge in a variety of catering venues. You should enjoy working with the general public, providing excellent customer service naturally. You will have similar experience in a catering / bar environment and the ability to assist with food preparation, production of both alcohol and non alcohol beverages and service of products. In return we offer a fantastic package which includes unsociable working enhancement payments, pension package and a competitive hourly rate. Over 18 only due to the preparation and service of alcohol. Own transport would be beneficial.

• To plan, prepare, cook, and present food to the standards required by the Trust for a facility with estimated income of £390k

• To develop retail and function menus with innovation and flair in line with budgetary requirements, GP control
• To ensure supplies are correctly issued, used and accounted for to carry out stock takes and food rotation procedures
• To maintain records relating to food production activities and supplier information as required by the Visitor Service Manager – Food & Beverage
• To ensure Health and Safety and Food Safety Standards are maintained in line with company policy
• To set objectives and be responsible for the day to day running of the kitchen, cleaning schedules, allergens and dietary requirements allocation and menu development
• To assist with employee performance and recognize training needs and potential as appropriate
• To assist with team briefings on a regular basis to communicate food standards, menu updates and changes, as well as H&S Policy requirements
• To ensure that the function achieves, as a minimum, the financial targets agreed with, in line with the budget
• To consistently look at ways of maximising income through effective purchasing through nominated suppliers and creative merchandising

Visitor Experience:
• To regularly monitor customer feedback, Mystery Visitor and Visit Scotland Audits and develop suitable action plans based on the results
• To be customer focused at all times and to ensure that customers are given a prompt and efficient service, to be approachable and quick to exceed expectations in fulfilling customer needs
• To ensure all food is cooked, presented, and served in line with Trust standards using innovation in the method and style of presentation and food service

Health & Safety, Food Safety, the Environment:
• To ensure that the location meets statutory and company requirements of Health and Safety, Food Safety and Environmental legislations and procedures
• To conduct Food Safety and Health and Safety Risk Assessments and ensure that all standards and procedures with regards to Hygiene and Safety are established and maintained in line with the Trust manual
• To ensure all kitchen staff and high-risk food handlers are trained to the appropriate standard
• To ensure all equipment is well maintained and is in good working order
• To make recommendations for renewal and replacement of equipment when required
• To establish and maintain location cleaning schedules

Qualifications & Experience

Essential
• NVQ3/BTEC/City & Guilds/HND/Degree or equivalent experience

We are looking for new people to join a team of staff in a busy museum Café . The Waves café, was recently relaunched with an exciting new menu with seafood items now being offered. Main Activities and Responsibilities:

The post of Café Assistant is vital to ensuring the Café continues to operate smoothly, profitably and successfully with a very high standard of customer care. The Museum Café is open six days a week until further notice.

The Café has developed its menu, particularly in the area of seafood products and recipes and is already offering table service. There is a kitchen as part of the Café and a food preparation area refurbished and equipped for preparing food items for consumption in the café.

Under the direction of the Front of House Manager to:

• Ensure an excellent standard of customer care for visitors

Hours: The Museum and Waves Café are currently open six days per week. The Café has at least two posts available and hours may be negotiable. Ideally, a commitment of minimum of 10 hours, including weekend working, will be necessary, depending on summer/winter season.

Salary: (National Minimum Wage)

Annual Leave: Dependent on working hours. Calculated on days/hours worked per week.

Are you tired of anti-social hours? At Restoration Yard we have an opportunity in our daytime operation for a Chef de Partie who wants to achieve a better work-life balance.

You will be part of a team that create memorable moments whether our guests are with us for a spot of lunch, coffee & cake, or celebrating their wedding day. Our offering consists of a 100-seat restaurant with an additional 80 outdoor covers.

As an experienced Chef de Partie with the ability to manage one or more sections, you will support the team in the day to day running of the kitchen, maintaining cleanliness standards and ensuring that our dishes exceed customers’ expectations.
