Candidates should have the ability to use an industrial dishwasher and chemical cleaning products. Some light food preparation may also be involved.

Conifox

Conifox is a family-owned business situated on the outskirts of Kirkliston. We operate a large outdoor Adventure Park and a newly completed indoor Activity Centre. Our Adventure Park opened in 2015 and offers a great space for families to enjoy, with picnic benches, BBQ, and lots of fun activities to explore, from crazy foot-golf to go-carts, bouncing pillow to sandpit. There is something for everyone to experience. Role Summary

As a hospitality supervisor at Conifox, you will be responsible for the daily operations of food and drink service to customers within the restaurant, activity centre café and social/corporate events. You will oversee all the issues pertaining to a customer’s dining experience, such as quality control, staff management, inventory, health and safety regulations and customer service. You’ll perform a vital role on the front line of our exciting family friendly business, ensuring that our customers have an enjoyable, positive, and safe experience whilst eating, drinking, and socialising with us.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Be a key member of the hospitality team and deliver top-class customer service consistently.
To ensure that the front of house areas are clean, tidy, and attractive during opening times.
Ensure stock levels are correct and adhered to.
To ensure that all deliveries are checked and put away promptly and correctly
To ensure waste is kept to a minimum during beverage production
Be pro-active at all times and use initiative, to solve any problems that may arise.

Qualifications and Skills

Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work as part of a team within a public facing environment
Ability to comply with legislation and follow all rules and regulation laid down in the staff handbook and our policies and procedures.
Be a great communicator and have the skill to liaise with a wide range of team members and customers.
Flexible can-do attitude with an approachable and enthusiastic manner.
Ability to remain calm during peak times and ensure excellent customer service is delivered.

Hours:
• You will normally work 4 or 5 days out of 7 each week (depending on the time of year/trading pattern).

Responsibilities
• Ensure that a high standard of customer care is maintained at all times and that the corporate waiters are continually assessed for social skill
• Setup, run and close down corporate bars and corporate events.
• Carry out & lead set up shifts for events to a high standard following the specifications of the client
• As well as running day time conferences and meetings, the supervisor will also be responsible for certain areas during weddings or dinners such as bars, supervising Front of House or Back of House operations.
• Assist with the training and development of new staff members as determined by the Food and Beverage Manager
• Accepting duty management responsibilities as determined by the Food and Beverage Manager Provide ad-hoc cover for the Café Supervisor/Manager and undertake general food and beverage assistant duties as required

Qualifications/Experience
• A warm, friendly ‘can-do’ attitude is essential, as well as the ability to communicate effectively
• Previous experience in a similar role – waiting and bar supervisory work during large conference and banqueting events is advantageous
• The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Food hygiene certificate along with a completed Alcohol Awareness course would be advantageous.
• Please note evening and weekend work is required

ABOUT THE ROLE

After a challenging few years, the college is seeing an increase in visitors. We have students from Wisconsin staying with us, language school students from all over the world and other clients who hold conferences, meetings and weddings. However, with this increase in visitors comes a growing need to provide an excellent standard of service to ensure they have a great experience at Newbattle.

To enable us to achieve that excellent service, we are recruiting ‘casual’ housekeeping and catering staff. Experience is not essential, as full training will be given, and you can choose to work either in housekeeping or catering or both.

The role

To coordinate the day-to-day catering operations to deliver first-class visitor experience and that your team and visitors enjoy a safe and happy environment; whilst generating income to exceed agreed targets in support of RZSS vision and mission.

Some of the things you’ll do:

Working with direction from the Catering Coordinators, provide day-to-day supervision of the Catering team.
Develop and maintain a supportive and dynamic first-class sales and service culture amongst the team -focusing on delivering high standards of service and food presentation in accordance with Cook safe regulations.

Ensure the Café areas are presented to the highest standards (displays, seating areas, signage), fully stocked and equipment is cleaned, maintained and serviced on a regular basis and report to the Coordinator any maintenance issues.

Support Visitor Experience Assistants with visitor complaints and act a route of escalation to deal with refunds in a professional manner and referring customer to your line manager if complaint cannot be resolved.

Working alongside the back of house team to ensure the smooth running of the cafe and outdoor catering areas as one united team.
What we’re looking for:

Starting pro-rated salary of £18,094 per annum (based on 30 hours per week)
Good achievement at Higher grade level (including English & Mathematics) or equivalent qualifications or experience.
Trained/certificate in Cooksafe and has ability/qualification to train others

Hours – We are looking for between 15 – 37.5 hours per week. There is some flexibility in the number of hours per week and this would be discussed at interview.

To prepare, cook or bake (role depending) all food for RZSS Highland Wildlife Park food outlets that deliver the highest standards of produce which not only exceeds our visitor expectations in flavour, substance and presentation, but is also in support of RZSS vision and mission.

Some of the things you’ll do:

Working with direction from the Catering Coordinator, prepare all raw food in line with hygiene legislation, minimising all food wastage through effective production. This can involve either cooking the day’s menu options or baking.
Ensure all food presented is of the highest quality, making sure of dietary requirements.
Assist with the set-up of the kitchen on a day to day basis.
Contribute to an effective ordering and stock control procedures by having an accurate knowledge of stock and informing Catering Coordinator when stocks are low.
Take responsibility for delivery and return processes, reconciliation, discrepancies and ensuring all stock is safely stored and easily accessible in line with Health & Safety guidelines.
Actively be involved in improving storage and stock and stock control systems, suggesting improvements in the overall layout and organisation.
Contribute to menu development and the analysis of food quantity and quality.

You’ll be qualified to SVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification or relevant experience preferable
Have a good understanding of legislative requirements regarding food preparation and delivery.

Purpose of the role

To assist the F+B manager in the day to day management of the Catering Department at Culloden Visitor Centre. To help ensure that all targets are met and that all visitors experience the highest level of guest satisfaction during their visit.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist the F+B manager with the development of the Menu Cycle/Specification.
• Contribute to food production as per the Menu Cycle/Specification and event Food Production (corporate, hospitality, meetings etc.).
• Keeping up to date HACCP, COSHH checklists and temperature sheets.
• Ensure high standards of Kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, tidiness and related schedules.
• Use fresh produce and ingredients whenever and wherever is possible and minimise wastage.
• Maintain a high standard of food presentation to the customer.
• Share in the common responsibility of implementing the Trust’s “Health & Safety Policy”, being mindful at all times of the health and safety of self, staff, volunteers, and visitors.
• Share in the common responsibility of working in a manner mindful of the Trust’s obligations to minimise impact on the environment, through e.g. efficient use of water/heat/light, recycling and the disposal of waste, considered use of transport.
• Help to reduce occurrences where Health or Safety of yourself and other employees may be put in jeopardy.
• Adherence to the COSHH Training provided and control of substances covered by COSHH.
• Involvement in the upkeep and maintenance of both the entire department site and, specifically, the Catering Outlets.
• Involvement in assessing and preserving the safety of utensils and equipment used within the Catering Outlets.

The current duties of this job do not require a criminal records (Disclosure Scotland) check to be carried out.

SCOPE OF ROLE
Location
The post holder will be based at Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre near Inverness but may occasionally be required to help at special events at other National Trust for Scotland sites as well as attend training courses at various venues.

People Management
• The Post Holder does not have direct line management responsibilities.

Financial Management
• Not a budget holder but responsible for the day to day management of stock

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE
