The Chef is responsible for the full time operation of the kitchen to assist in providing a high-class visitor service and to ensure that operational KPIs and targets are met. Delivering a high-quality standard of menu design, food preparation, ordering and production for a 40-cover café, catering for commercial events and other service offers such as meetings, conferences, and book launches, etc.

The post-holder will be responsible for all menu development, in liaison with the Visitor Attraction Manager, Front of House Managers, marketing, event planning and suppliers, as appropriate. The role is integral to the commercial and operational success of Moat Brae and the Chef is required to follow all operational and safety procedures to support this delivery.

We are currently looking for experienced Waiting Staff to work with our team during the 2022 season.

You should be ready to work in a fast-paced dynamic coffee shop and thrive on being part of a first-class team. You should be customer focused with exceptionally high standards. You will be responsible for the cleanliness of the restaurant, offering the warmest of welcome and delivering a prompt and high standard of service to all our guests.

Duties will include:-

Taking orders, serving food and drinks.
Cleaning and resetting tables.
Keeping workstations clean and replenished.

Waiting experience is required.

Excellent customer service skills are a must for this position and must be flexible to work on a rota basis.

Our busy restaurant is looking for an experienced, forward-thinking Chef who is passionate about food and service. The ideal candidate for this position will be a natural leader who always has a finger on the pulse of the restaurant industry. The Chef will be responsible for preparing meals for our diners, record keeping, managing stock and support in developing new dishes to add to our growing menu plant-based menu.

Primary Responsibilities
• Maintain an excellent level of preparation and service to exceed expectations.
• Responsibly manage stock and record keeping.
• Maintain health and hygiene standards in food preparation and service areas.

Key Work Objectives
• Employ food safety best practices and makes sure that all kitchen staff members do the same.
• Work a busy service, including cooking, quality control and presentation of hot and cold dishes.
• Catering for on-site events and functions.
• Maintaining cleaning schedules and KP duties.
• Assist in the monitoring and ordering of stock. Receiving deliveries.
• Take responsibility for daily record keeping, including temperature checks and cleaning schedules.
• Support the training of new kitchen staff.
• Support the development of our plant-based menu.
• Keep up-to-date on restaurant industry trends.
• General administration support to ensure the smooth running of the department.
• Assisting the front of house team as and when needed.

General
• Maintain high levels of professionalism, service and personal appearance.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties which may be requested of you by the management team.
• To be responsible, along with other staff members, for compliance with health and safety regulations for yourself, other staff and visitors.
• To support the zoos environmental practices in your day-to-day operations.

We are looking for strong and experienced chefs to join our team for the upcoming season at Jupiter Artland this year.

Created from the same team behind award winning restaurant, Fhior, in Edinburgh, we are offering both full time and part time positions in the kitchen.

The café located within the beautiful grounds of Jupiter Artland will be producing a menu of simple, and accessible plates of food designed to appeal to a varying range of clientele. Utilising fresh produce from some of the countries best suppliers to create a quality café experience.

Key Skill

· You must be able to work well within a small team and be able to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

· Able to manage and organise your own workload efficiently and to a high standard of finish and cleanliness.

· Be able to work under pressure and have a problem-solving attitude to any issues.

· The ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

· Have a love for fresh produce and knowledge of how to utilise it to its potential.

Main Duties

· Managing your prep time to ready for lunch services.

· Assist the head chef in all areas of menu planning and in realising its execution.

· To keep the kitchen clean and hygienic through out the working day and to display a high standard to your colleagues.

· Helping to create special with the head chef.

· Ensuring your section is always organised, clean, and that your prep is always to a high standard.

· Able to run a service and maintain an efficient speed in delivering for the customers.

· Assist other members of the team to ensure success for the café.

We are looking for a proficient floor staff to join our front of house team at the Jupiter Artland Café for the up-coming Summer Season.

Open daily for morning coffee, light lunches plus afternoon teas and cake this is a bustling café environment.

We are looking to recruit this position on a full-time basis but we will consider applications from candidates looking for a part-time post. Full-time will be 5 days out of 7, 9am-close.

Duties will include:

Warm and welcoming personality.

Taking orders.

Serving and clearing dishes with a good knowledge of our products.

Serving and preparing hot and cold beverages with a good knowledge of our products.

Observing a high standard of cleanliness front and back of house in-keeping with current Covid -19 restrictions.

Processing Card and Cash payments.

We are seeking enthusiastic, reliable individuals who are committed to a delivering world-class experience to our visitors. This role is mainly located in the Castle Cafe however it will also involve working in the Castle Gift Shop as well as at occasional events.

The right person must have experience in the hospitality industry and have a positive, can-do attitude.
