To maintain excellent standards of site and personal presentation at all times

Ensuring site is ready to open and welcome visitors by the set opening time;

Wearing correct uniform, name badges, or PPE as required.

Reporting all instances of damage and wear and tear issues promptly to your line manager;

Working in harmony with other departments; housekeeping, gardening, grounds maintenance and site repair employees/contractors.

Financial Responsibilities (where applicable)

To adhere to all financial procedures to include till operation and banking and safeguarding of monies: to implement amendments to standard procedure as instructions may dictate.

Food & Beverage duties (where applicable)

To ensure good housekeeping of kitchens, serveries and back of house areas.

To ensure that merchandising is in accordance with NTS policy.

To assist in achieving site catering targets and KPI’s.

To actively upsell products and services to facilitate the visitor’s enjoyment.

To actively feedback visitor comments to line managers to develop and improve offer, service, operations.

The Royal Yacht Britannia is an award-winning, five-star visitor attraction and exclusive evening events venue in Edinburgh, which employs more than 160 staff. The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our operational team as a Catering Assistant at Rothes Halls.

You will be part of the onsite catering team undertaking duties relating to the operation of our cafe, preparing/serving food and beverages, recording payments and general kitchen, bar and dining room duties. Ensure all working and public areas are kept safe and provide visitor engagement and support.    

There are two part-time roles available, working 16 hours per week. Flexibility is required to meet the business needs and this may include weekend and evening working.

The Role

Welcoming visitors in the Retail & Admissions area, ensuring they have all the necessary information to make the most of their visit to Branklyn Garden and processing any purchases in a friendly, efficient and knowledgeable manner.

Assisting with Food & Beverage preparation and service including awareness of ingredients / allergens and stock management.

Ensuring our holiday accommodation is cleaned and prepared to the required standard for the arrival of guests.

Answering any visitor queries about the garden, our retail products, our food & beverage offering or our holiday accommodation.

Checking visitors are enjoying their experience at Branklyn Garden and enquiring whether all their needs are being met, passing visitor comments to line managers to develop and improve offer / service.

Promoting the National Trust for Scotland brand to include our membership scheme, relevant campaigns, events and our places throughout Scotland.

Assist with the general ongoing operational servicing and delivery of visitor and team facilities across all areas of the property.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Sous Chef to join our Food & Beverage team at The Falkirk Wheel. You will be assisting the kitchen team in providing our full menu, inclusive of hot offer, Grab and Go, wood fired pizza and events.

The role is offered on a permanent basis, and with a starting salary of £26,110 (Band B) plus variable working allowance of 11.25%. Working hours are typically between 7am and 5pm on a 4 on 2 off rota (later start and earlier finish in winter due to seasonal variance) averaging 35 hours per week with flexibility required due to business demands and occasional evening shifts due to events.
