KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Prospect Research
• Lead on the development and maintenance of healthy prospect pipelines across the team to help maximise and strategically focus the team’s fundraising potential.
• Develop and ensure quality control of prospect research processes and documentation.
• Conduct thematic and project led prospect research to identify quality prospects that align with the Trust’s strategic aims and project offering.
• Conduct network mapping of key internal and external individuals to support the engagement and cultivation of new and existing prospects.
• Qualify and prioritise prospective donors on behalf of the team.
• Develop and maintain prospect pipelines across income streams, assigning canvassers and ensuring healthy moves management for broadening our donor pool.
• Develop our due diligence framework and implement on all qualified prospects, undertaking full ethical checks where required in line with the Trust’s ethical checks policy.
• Produce research profiles and biographical briefings for events.
• Utilise internal and external prospect research databases and resources to aid prospect identification. Utilise a matrix and ratings approach to qualify prospects based on their capacity, affinity and access criteria.
• Help to identify events that members of the team can attend in a networking and/or insight gathering perspective.
• Recommend appropriate and cost-effective research tools and support the Fundraising Operations Manager to manage this as part of the expenditure budget.

• Remain informed of key UK and European market trends within philanthropic and foundations sectors which may impact our prospect identification and qualification.

• Maintain up to date knowledge and understanding of the Data Protection Act, GDPR and ICO guidelines, and any other relevant legislation and guidelines and their impact on fundraising.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

The Fundraising Manager, Major Gifts will, with direction and support from the Fundraising Manager, Strategic Major Gifts, identify, cultivate and solicit major gifts from existing supporters and, critically, develop new networks of major donors to drive our charitable work.

Major Gifts

• With direction and support from the Fundraising Manager, Strategic Major Gifts you will develop the major gifts pipeline and take full responsibility for a portfolio of existing and potential major donors. You’ll adopt a proactive approach and will nurture strong relationships, develop and implement bespoke strategies for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship to negotiate and secure major gifts
• Act as a key point of contact for both major donors and major donor prospects
• Design and develop cultivation and stewardship plans for donors to ensure they are inspired, engaged, recognised and thanked appropriately
• Work with the Major Gifts team, Prospect Research Executive and wider team to develop and grow overall income and membership of Founders Circle and Patron’s Club, where this maximises fundraising income
• Work with the Strategic Major Gifts Manager to support the Head of Fundraising, CEO and wider executive team to develop relationships with key prospects and donors, providing insight and research to empower and inform discussions
• Fully participate and support prospect tracking meetings to deliver the implementation of customised solicitation plans, and ensure all relationships are recorded in our CRM system
• Work closely and collaboratively with other members of the Fundraising team to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach to capital campaigns and fundraising activity.

Thank you for your interest in the post of Stonemason with Historic Environment Scotland. This post is based at our Perth Depot and is a permanent and pensionable appointment.

You will be part of one of nine Monument Conservation Units based throughout Central & West Scotland, tasked with the conservation, maintenance and presentation works at monuments within their areas including Stirling Castle, Doune Castle, St Andrews Cathedral, Dunkeld Cathedral, Arbroath Abbey and Iona Abbey

The Monument Conservation Units (MCU) are based throughout Central Scotland and consist of stonemasons, joiners, painters, gardeners, labourers and apprentices of varying trades. The teams are headed by Works Managers who have direct line management responsibilities for the whole team. As a Stonemason in our Perth Depot, you will have responsibility for the on-going conservation and maintenance and preservation of masonry at Historic Environment Scotland monuments within your area which include Dunkeld Cathedral, Stanley Mills, Elcho Castle and Huntingtower Castle. You will help train and instruct apprentices in all aspects of the trade and provide information and instruction to support staff as required. You may also be asked to be involved in showing masonry skills at open days.

You will be expected to work at any location as directed by the Works Manager within the depot area – official transport is provided to and from the various sites within the Depot areas. Individuals are however expected to make their own way to the MCU Depot.

You will also be asked to travel using HES transport to other remote sites out with your depot area which may include overnight stays.

Working Hours

The normal weekly hours of work will vary according to the working season in the working year. The working year will cover the calendar year 1 April to 31 March.

Currently the working year is divided into 2 working seasons – namely a longer working hours season (summer) and a shorter working hour season (winter). The length of each working season will be fixed by local management after discussion with the MCU and not later than 1 April of that working year.

The normal working week for the long season will cover a 5-day working week, Monday to Friday inclusive. The normal working week in the short season will also be agreed between MCU and local management and will normally include a 4-day week, normally Monday to Thursday but not exclusively so.

You will carry out conservation and routine maintenance works to HES monuments in the various depot areas. This involves all forms of traditional masonry including:

• Stone cutting/hewing of various architectural mouldings/stones for the Depot sites and monuments in other depot areas as required.
• Traditional building/repairs/indenting of stonework.
• Raking out and pointing defective joints and beds.
• Promote traditional methods of conservation and masonry techniques to carry out challenging and diverse conservation projects/works.
• Operate hand tools in addition to powered machinery such as disc saws, mortar mixers, compressors hoists etc to facilitate the work when trained to do so.
• The winter season may consist of work out with the normal duties associated with stonemasonry consisting of lime washing, grounds works and cobbles/slabs repair as well as general presentation works.
• Provide training and mentoring for apprentice stonemasons in traditional conservation skills when required.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Marine Technician to join our Destinations team in Falkirk. You will report to the FHB Marine Mechanic/Operations Manager. Ensuring continuity of customer service is maintained to highest degree.  Fundamental to this role is the ability to diagnose and resolve diesel engine, electrical and plumbing problems within the Holiday Boat hire fleet.

The role is offered on a permanent post based in Falkirk at The Falkirk Wheel.  You will work on a rota which will include weekends and bank holidays as well as providing additional standby and call out cover.  With a starting salary of £30,069 (Band C) with a variable hours allowance of 11.25% and outdoor working allowance £850 per anum.

Primary responsibilities of the role:

Work closely alongside the FHB Marine Mechanic/Operations Manager, supporting them and motivating a team of Bankside Operations Staff.  Leading toolbox talks, ensure effective communication of relevant business issues, adhere to set budgets and associated processes. 
Responsible for maintaining the high standards established for fleet maintenance and inspection, following handover procedures, and keeping the general safety, cleanliness, security, and customer care standards at Bankside in good order.
The role requires to be available for “call outs” to attend the hire fleet in the event of a breakdown.
Support FHB Marine Mechanic/Operations Manager with delivery of the winter works programme for the fleet.
Minimising disruption to customers by adhering to relevant stoppage programmes and procedures.
Lead by example, encourage the team to take responsibility for the health and safety of colleagues, volunteers, themselves, and customers.
Support with delivering on franchise agreements.
Assist organising winter maintenance program of works and boat safety inspections.

You will be required to carry out planned preventative maintenance & corrective tasks along with project work within key sites mainly; Stirling Castle, Argylls Lodgings, Central Stores Depot & The Engine Shed Training Centre ensuring public safety and compliance with current regulations. The Stirling Castle M&EE (Mechanical & Electrical Engineering) Team has responsibility for day-to-day maintenance of Stirling Castle, Argylls Lodgings, Central Stores Depot, Engine Shed and various other buildings in the Central Region in which you will be required at times to assist with support to the other depots in the region. Working with planned preventative maintenance systems involving regular and routine inspection of all electrical installations including the testing of fire alarms and emergency lighting. Role Profile:
The Young Peoples Producer plays a key role in ensuring that the museum is a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive space for a young people’s audience, locally. As well as our young people’s programme as an introduction to all that V&A Dundee has to offer, aimed at those who may otherwise not consider visiting.

With a strong emphasis on co-design, and inclusion this role will work towards engaging young people from a range of backgrounds. Key to our approach is our Young Peoples Programme – co-designed by our Young People’s Collective (YPC), a group of 14 to 24-year-olds from across Dundee. The programme offers diverse, forward-thinking, and relevant opportunities to young people, as well as a programme out with school and college hours specifically to help young people develop new design-related skills and increase confidence and resilience, raise aspirations, and be involved with the Museum.

This programme helps support equal access for all audiences and is a key driver in relation to social impact and contributes significantly to the museum’s civic responsibility.

As a member of the Programme team, the Young Peoples Producer contributes ideas to the wider Museum’s programme and ensures the voice of young people is heard and acted upon, liaising with other internal departments and key, strategic partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:
-Devise, coordinate and facilitate weekly YPC meetings and onboarding of new members

-Develop a bespoke, co designed programme of opportunities led by the needs and interests of YPC to ensure their voices are represented and implemented across the museums’ wider programme

-Maintain and strengthen relationships with key national partners and stakeholders e.g. Young Scot, Children in Scotland, LGBT Youth Scotland to ensure that V&A Dundee is relevant and valued to young people

-Seek out opportunities and encourage membership for young people including those identified as NEET with a range of external partners

-With support from the Learning Manager, work closely with the Philanthropy and Partnerships team on a range of funding proposals and reports as and when necessary

-Working closely with Audiences and Media team to prepare social media posts and author, commission and edit information relating to the programme (What’s On) – e.g. blogs, articles, press releases etc.

-Coordinate and support YPC to gain accreditation for their programme and contribution to the museum

-Undertake administration relating to the post, including compiling reports and proposals, statistics and KPIs, administering budgets, purchase orders, invoices, and event schedules, risk assessments and contracts
