Steve Dering
Steve Dering, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Direct Access
Profoundly deaf since birth, Steve is a Director at accessibility and inclusion consultancy Direct Access. He has led accessibility consultancy programmes on several visitor attraction projects from world expositions and theme parks in the Middle East to historical facilities including the Oireachtas (Irish Parliament) to several national museums including the Royal Armouries, V&A, the Science Museum Group and others.
Steve was a Disability Power 100 list member recognising the most influential disabled people in the UK.
Steve is also a doctoral researcher at the University of Glasgow’s Centre for Disability Research exploring accessibility of our cities for deaf or blind people and also sits on the Global Leadership Council for the IAAP – certifying accessibility specialists globally.
